Limited Overs is a swift replay simulation of English domestic one-day cricket, covering the CGU National League, Benson & Hedges Cup, and Natwest Bank Trophy. A typical 40-overs match takes around an hour to replay, less than half the time of the International Cricket system, but longer than the County Championship format. Players are rated for batting (using batting card numbers and personal factors), bowling (strike value and economy factor), and wicket-keeping (0-3 rating). Weather and pitch conditions can change during the game. Batsmen can choose from four batting modes, determining the number of balls replayed per over (2 for defensive to 6 for aggressive). The chosen mode modifies the bowler's strike value when a chance occurs, influenced by weather, pitch, new ball use, and batsman's form. Four dice are rolled per ball: the yellow die decides if it's an automatic dot ball, while the other three determine runs scored or other results. Most results (83.33%) come from batting cards, with the rest from bowling cards, involving the bowler's economy factor or producing chances. Batsmen are more vulnerable initially, and bowlers' strike value increases with wickets taken, decreasing when catches are dropped. Each of the fifty batting cards produces a unique batting average (6.4 to 82), with varying scoring rates per over. Player stats aim to replicate real-life averages and playing styles, influenced by personal factors. The game's primary goal is to provide a quick, accurate, and stat-filled experience, offering more personality than the International Cricket system.
