Ceiling Medallion Installation Guide 2022-06-04T11:59:00-04:00. Installing a Ceiling Medallion: If your medallion lacks a hole, cut one before installation. Choose the appropriate diameter based on your electric box size and ceiling fan or light fixture canopy. Check medallion specifications (center hole diameter and maximum canopy fit) on the product page. Use a regular hole saw tool from any local store to cut the medallion.
- Pre-Installation Hole Cutting: If your ceiling medallion arrives without a hole, cut one before installation. Match the hole size to your electric box and ceiling fan canopy. Check medallion specs for compatible canopy sizes. Use a hole saw tool
- Required Tools & Materials: Caulking gun, Elastomeric adhesive caulk, Sponge/clean cloth, Putty knife, Extra fine sandpaper, Hammer & finishing nails (at least 1/2" long), Jigsaw, keyhole saw, or pen-knife
- Preparation for Installation: Clean installation surface and medallion back of all dirt and dust using a clean cloth or sponge. Ensure both are completely dry. Measure and mark installation location
- Safety Instructions: Use recommended tools, wear safety goggles. Follow manufacturer instructions for fixtures, power tools, and paint. Use common sense and good construction practices. Medallions are not load-bearing; do not use to support electrical fixtures or ceiling fans
