At the very beginning of my career in the signage industry, and more so at subsequent companies, initial training is often done of the job for new starters. Existing staff forget what it was like when they didn’t have the knowledge they have now. Knowing the basics of this industry could mean the success of any company, small or large.Experience tells me that companies fold when their employee’s forget or don’t grasp the basics. Getting new starters off on the right foot is clearly a recipe for success. Just the basics will help 10x. Quick scenario for you is what happens when a new starter has your client on the phone and they are asking what material you use for this, how long will it take to install that, when will it be ready? etc etc. The likelihood is that your new starter doesn’t know because they haven’t come across this whilst learning on the job.
