However, there is a major difference between the (2) Honeywell contacts. While most hardwired alarm control panels and door contacts use normally closed circuits, some control panels require normally open circuits. The 958 is a standard normally closed contact while the 958-2 can be wired for a normally closed or a normally open loop. Unless your installation calls for a normally open contact, the 958 overhead door contact is a suitable option.
