LIMOGES VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY FRENCH HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN MINIATURE PLAQUE

This rare Limoges piece of art depicts, two lovers, a man and a woman, in a forest scene. The characters and the background are colorful. The back of the piece clearly states that it is LIMOGES and it was Made in France. It was most likely used on a brooch or pendant backing, which is now nonexistent. It was found in an estate sale back in the 1950s. Making porcelain is a difficult, delicate, and time-intensive process that involves vitrifying the clay multiple times at extremely high temperatures.
