This Link-Belt F3-S200E series intermediate-duty ball bearing flange unit has a cast iron housing with four bolt holes, molded lip seal, and spring-locking collar. This non-expansion type bearing unit is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. This ready-to-mount flange unit has a one-piece housing made of cast iron for rigidity and vibration damping. It has a powder coating for corrosion resistance, a grease fitting on the outer surface for reapplying lubricant, and a machined mounting surface for increased stability. The double-sealed, deep-groove ball bearing insert in the housing is made of chromium steel and is rated "intermediate duty" for applications with moderate radial loads and light to moderate thrust or combination loads. It has an extended inner ring for increased shaft support, and a convex sphered outer surface to compensate for misalignments. Seals on both sides of the bearing consisting of a thick land-riding molded lip and external trash guard retain lubricant applied at manufacture and help protect against contaminants. The bearing locks onto the shaft with a spring-locking collar and two setscrews for a positive lock on the shaft. This lock type minimizes ring distortion and vibration and is suitable for low to moderate speed applications where the shaft rotates in a single or reversing direction.
