Its unique velvety surface, made of a thin coating of cellulose fibers, has the ability to grab and retain multiple layers of even the softest pastels. Pastelmat significantly reduces the need for a fastener, meaning the colors stay vibrant and fresh once applied. It has the added advantage of being kind to fingers and mixing tools. Acid-free. Pastelmat is ideal for use with all dry techniques: Pastel, Panpastel, Pencils, Graphite and Charcoal. It is also water resistant, meaning it can be used with wet media - such as acrylics and watercolor and mixed techniques.
