Named after Russian mineralogist Andrey Vorobyev, it is found in pegmatite deposits and is characterized by its unique blue color, tabular crystals, and color-zoning. While first discovered in Russia, the most well-known and visually striking vorobyevite comes from a more recent discovery in the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
